The interior design of the main homestead and guest suites take their queues from our love of Australian Colonial Georgian architecture that was prevalent along the hills and slopes of the Barossa during the region’s inception. Those soft and gentile early designs were a perfect foil to the harsh and rough climates that the early Barossans lived with. Many of our guests find them restful and lacking the distractions of modern day interior design. But at the same time, Abbotsford has remained a family home for the past 18 years whose members remain very much connected to the world at large and as a consequence it lacks any sense of ‘life in a museum’.
